John Eager Howard 
John Eager was born on June 25th, 1788. John Eager's father was John Eager Howard and his mother was Margaretta Chew. His paternal grandparents were Cornelius Howard and Ruth Eager; his maternal grandparents were Benjamin Chew and Elizabeth Oswald. He had five brothers and three sisters, named George, Benjamin C., William, James, Charles, Juliana Elizabeth, Sophia Catharine and Mary Anne. He was the oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 34 on October 18th, 1822.General Notes

John Eager Howard, b 25th June, 1788; d 18th October, 1822; m 20th
December, 1820, Cornelia Annabella READ, b. 1798; d 28th December 1862.
He was at the battle of North Point, near Baltimore, 12th September,
1814. They had one child, b 3d September 1821, who in the Mexican War
served as Captain and was brevetted Major for gallantry, being the third
to scale the walls of Chapultepec, and who d. umn. 14th August 1862.
