Countess Alberat of Leiningen

Alberat was born about 1148 in Alt-Leiningen, Pfalz, Bavaria.¹ Alberat's father was Count Emich of Leiningen III and her mother was Elisabeth von Eberstein. Her paternal grandparents were Count Emich of Leiningen II and Alberat von Nassau. She had six brothers and three sisters, named Hermann, Eberhard, Friedrich, Adolf, Emich, Siegmund, Elisabeth, Luitgard and Luitgard. She was the seventh oldest of the ten children.
