Mary was born in 1813 and her baptism took place on December 5th, 1813 in St John Baptist, Croydon.1 Mary's father was Richard Letts and her mother was Martha. She had two brothers and a sister, named Richard, Richard and Elizabeth. She was the oldest of the four children.
