May Sture

May was born before 1756 and her baptism took place on July 13th, 1756 in Woodleigh.¹   May's father was Philip Sture and her mother was Mary Whiteway (of Harberton ).  Her paternal grandparents were George Sture and Sarah Foale. She had five brothers and four sisters, named Philip, Edmund, Henry, George, Richard, Sarah, Sarah, Ann and Peggy.  She was the oldest of the ten children.
