Elizabeth was born on February 17th, 1748 in Rudgwick and her baptism took place on February 21st, 1748 in Rudgwick, Sussex.1  Elizabeth's father was William Steer and her mother was <Unknown>. She had seven brothers and five sisters, named William, John, Lee, William, Edward, John, George, Mary, Ann, Mary, Ann and Sarah.  She was the second youngest of the thirteen children.
