Ann was born on November 18th, 1742 and her baptism took place on November 28th, 1742 in Rudgwick, Sussex.1   Ann's father was William Steer and her mother was <Unknown>. She had seven brothers and five sisters, named William, John, Lee, William, Edward, John, George, Mary, Ann, Mary, Sarah and Elizabeth.  She was the seventh oldest of the thirteen children.
