William Steer

William was born before 1783 and his baptism took place on July 20th, 1783 in Ashprington Devon.¹   William's father was Philip Sture and his mother was Mary Paige (of Harleston).  His paternal grandparents were Henry Sture and Anne Whiteway. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Philip, John, Henry, Mary, Susanna, Betsy, Sarah and Ann.
