William Steer

William was born in 1826 in Lurgashall, Sussex and his baptism took place there on March 26th, 1826.¹

William's father was William Steer and his mother was Elizabeth steer.  His paternal grandparents were James Steer and Elizabeth Rapson. He had a brother and five sisters, named James, Sarah, Martha, Harriot, Eliza and Emma.  He was the youngest of the seven children.
