Anna was born before 1789 and her baptism took place on December 22nd, 1789 in Angmering, Sussex.1   Anna's father was Edward Steer and her mother was Sarah Goldsmith. She had four brothers and a sister, named William, Edward, George, John and Jemima.  She was the second oldest of the six children.
