Ann was born about 1844 in Eaton, Staffordshire.1   Ann's father was Thomas STEERS and her mother was Martha STEERS. She had three brothers and four sisters, named James, Thomas, William Edward, Hannah, Elizabeth, Ruth and Morton Isabella.  She was the fourth youngest of the eight children.
