Lydia was born about 1877 in Ecclesfield Yorkshire.1   Lydia's father was William STEER and her mother was Margaret STEER. She had seven brothers and a sister, named William H, John, James E, Fred, Francis, Earnest, Reganald and Florence.  She was the second youngest of the nine children.
