Florence was born about 1880 in Ecclesfield Yorkshire.1   Florence's father was William STEER and her mother was Margaret STEER. She had seven brothers and a sister, named William H, John, James E, Fred, Francis, Earnest, Reganald and Lydia.  She was the youngest of the nine children.
