Henry was born in 1728 in Tonbridge, Kent..1   Henry's father was James STEER and his mother was Elizabeth. He had seven brothers and a sister, named James, William, Thomas, John, Humphrey, Joseph, Barnett and Elizabeth.  He was the fourth youngest of the nine children.
