Emily F was born about 1843 in St Peter Port, Guernsey, Channel Islands.1   Emily F's father was Thomas L STEER and her mother was Sarah STEER. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Edwin H, Alfred C, Edwin, Julia M and Louisa.  She was the oldest of the six children.
