Edwin was born about 1879 in Dundee Scotland.1   Edwin's father was Thomas L STEER and his mother was Sarah STEER. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Edwin H, Alfred C, Emily F, Julia M and Louisa.  He was the youngest of the six children.
