Eleanor was born about 1895 in Thorpe Hesley Yorks.1   Eleanor's father was Thomas STEER and her mother was Emma STEER. She had three brothers and a sister, named George Fredrick, Matilda, Cecil and Gertrude.  She was the second youngest of the five children.
