Dorothy was born about 1895 in Cardiff Glamorgan.1   Dorothy's father was William STEER and her mother was Annie STEER. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, William, Samuel, Lily, Rose, Christian, Daisy and Flossie.  She was the second youngest of the nine children.
