Lottie E was born about 1889 in Rochester, Kent.¹ Lottie E's father was William T STEARS and her mother was Eliza A STEARS. She had five brothers and a sister, named William E, James T, Sidney V, Edward E, Horace J and Florrie M. She was the second youngest of the seven children.
