Henry was born about 1889 in Stratford, Essex.1   Henry's father was Joseph STEAR and his mother was Eleanor STEAR. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Joseph, Thomas, James, Frederick, Jane, Ethel and Katherine.  He was the fourth youngest of the eight children.
