Benjamin was born about 1792 in Par and his baptism took place on October 7th, 1792 in Saint Blazey.1  Benjamin's father was John Brokenshire (Brokensher) and his mother was Amy. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Joseph, Henry, Mark, Amy and Amelia.  He was the third youngest of the six children.
