Richard was born on August 21st, 1692.1   Richard's father was Joseph Goad and his mother was Hannah Atkinson.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas Goad and Alice. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, Joseph, Robert, Benjamin, John, Isaac, Mary and Hannah.  He was the third oldest of the nine children.

Richard and Frances were married in a religious ceremony on June 14th, 1720.1   They had three sons and two daughters, named Robert, Christopher, Joseph, Hannah and Ruth.
