Daniel was born on October 18th, 1826 and his baptism took place on November 12th, 1826 in South Mims Parish Church conducted by Curate Thos Price.1  Daniel's father was Daniel Shambrook and his mother was Maria Lane.  His paternal grandparents were James Shambrook and Elizabeth Bent. He had four brothers and six sisters, named William, Joseph, David, Benjamin, Ann, Maria, Mary, Rebecca, Eliza and Charlotte.  He was the fourth oldest of the eleven children.
