David was born on July 31st, 1835 in Shoreditch/Islington and his baptism took place on August 30th, 1835 in St Leonards, Shoreditch.1  David's father was John (James) Jenkins and his mother was Jane Morgan (of Shoreditch).  His maternal grandparents were Henry Morgan and Ann Wombwell (of Braintree). He had two brothers named Henry and John.  He was the youngest of the three children. He had a half-sister named Jane.  He died at the age of 78 on September 7th, 1913.  The funeral took place in Plumstead Cemetery.

‌David and Fanny were married in a religious ceremony on April 4th, 1858 in St Philip's Church Bethnal Green witnessed by George Wood  Jane Ecles her Mark.11  They had five sons and three daughters, named John, Henry, Walter, Arthur, David, Helen, Clara and Jane.
