Jacob was born in 1711 and his baptism took place on February 12th, 1711 in North Nibley, Gloucester.  Jacob's father was Arthur Curnock and his mother was Ann.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas Curnock and Elizabeth. He had three brothers and three sisters, named George, Caleb, Arthur, Elizabeth, Rachel and Jemima.  He was the second oldest of the seven children.
