George was born in 1716 and his baptism took place on November 12th, 1716 in North Nibley, Gloucester.  George's father was Arthur Curnock and his mother was Ann.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas Curnock and Elizabeth. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Jacob, Caleb, Arthur, Elizabeth, Rachel and Jemima.  He was the fourth oldest of the seven children.
