Johannes Carel Winterbach 
Johannes was born on May 6th, 1812 in Winterhoek, Tulbagh.1 Johannes' father was Johannes Carel Winterbach and his mother was Dorethea Elizabetha Theron. His paternal grandparents were Johann Carl Winterbach and Maria Magdalena Huijsamer. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Pieter, Carel, Hendrik, Dirk, Maria, Johanna, Dorothea, Susanna and Anna. He was the second oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 72 on October 12th, 1884 in Winterhoek, Tulbagh.2 Death Notes
