Margaret Ellen was born in 1903 in Wandiligong.1  Margaret Ellen's father was Andrew Ross FAULKNER and her mother was Marie Louise DAGON.  Her paternal grandparents were William FAULKNER and Ellen Anne SWAN; her maternal grandparents are Jules DAGON and Margaret SCHOULLER. She had four brothers and three sisters, named James Alex, Jules Andrew, Ross Percival, George Edward, Alice Louise, Edith Grace and Jean Mavis.  She was the fourth youngest of the eight children. She had a half-brother named William Manton.
