William Norman was born in 1886. William Norman's father was John Henry CHALLEN and his mother was Esther Ocean GRAHAM.  His paternal grandparents were Charles William CHALLEN and Jane MERRETT; his maternal grandfather is GRAHAM. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Charles Henry, John Linton Graham, Stanley Gordon, Thomas, Edith Maud, Harriet Elizabeth, Esther Alexander, Alice Ada, Lilias Eveline and Stella Charlotte.  He was the fifth youngest of the eleven children.  He died at the age of 77 in 1963.
