"GEHAN.-On Tuesday the death occurred at Ballarat of Mr. Albert Francis Gehan, who as a contractor was well known in Stawell and district. Deceased, was was 52 years. of age, was a son of the. late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Gehan, of Lake Lonsdale. He was married to Miss. Ethel M. Davidson, of Deep Lead, and there are three children, The funeral took place at Stawell on Wednesday, the Rev. R. A. Donne conducting the service."

"FATALITY AT STAWEL. YOUNG MAN DROPS DEAD. During the progress of a wood chopping contest that was being held at Stawell on Thursday afternoon, one of the competitors, named Peter Gehan, a well known wood chopper, aged 25 years, suddenly expired. Gehan had chopped his log through, and was in the act of putting on his coat when he fell back. unconscious. Dr. Fox was summoned, and arrived in a few minutes, but pronounced life extinct."
