Formerly Miss Mary Agnes Sheehan, Mrs Halberstater was born at Rockhampton 80 years ago and spent practically all her life in the district. For over 50 years she had been a most respected resident of Mount Morgan. Of a cheery disposition she was most generous; and always ready to help those in need. She was an ardent worker for the Catholic Church and Convent, Benevolent Society and Comforts Fund during the 1914-18 war.
During the latter period her husband was Mayor of Mt Morgan. Mrs Halberstater is survived by three sons, Dr Leslie Halberstater (Townsville), Cecil (chemist, Brisbane); Alan ("Doreen" St Lawrence) and one daughter (Mrs Frank Walsh, Tamworth). Mrs Geo.
