Inh 1852, "Edwin" Eddowes married Mary Dawson.

In 1853, Edmund and Mary Eddowes (who had recently married) were marriage witnesses for Esther Eddowes
 1828 - 1912 Mary Dawson 84 84 Had sister and her husband, Margaret and William Salt visiting in Brikenhead in 1861, also from Shropshire.

Mary Dawson married Edwin Eddowes in Wrexham in 1852.

What happened to Mary after husband Edmund died in 1868?  She was living in Birkenhead in 1871 with her family, but cant be found after that. 1856 - 1901 Edmund Eddowes 44 44 Edmund is the oldest son of Mary Dawson, born in Wrexham in Q1-1856.

Edmund's father died young when Edmund was only 12, and his mother Mary then wortked as a washerwoman.  They must have had a hard time.  Edmund married Hannah Carter, a Liverpool girl in 1881, but they appear to have had no children.  He worked as a Boiler Sealer and Boiler Cleaner.  He died in Jan 1901 and the early age of 44 or 45.

The records show his poor wife Hannah also died early in 1906. Mary Jane Hughes (Lucy Eddowes's daughter) was living with Edward and Hannah in 1891.  In 1901, Edmund and Hannah went to stay with Mary Jane and Owen Stanton.  Their address was 30 Eldon Place (1901 census), which matches with the information you gave. 1854 - 1890 Sarah Eddowes 36 36 Sarah's family moved from Wrexham to Birkenhead when she was young.

Sarah died in 1890, so in 1891 Abraham was a Widow.  However, by 1901 Abraham had another wide, also Sarah but not to be confused with this Sarah Eddowes. 1861 - 1940 John Samuel Eddowes 79 79 Married Catherine in Liverpool in 1891 and then again in Birkenhead in 1907. On the second mariage, John is a widow so something strange is going on here!

In 1911, John (50) and Catherine (43) were living in Birkenhead with no children.

Do not confuse with the John Eddowes born 1858 in Wrexham who married Elizabeth. 1863 - 1881 Lucy Eddowes 18 18 Edmund Eddowes (1832-1868) had 4 children; Sarah, Edmund, John and Lucy.  The family moved from Wrexham to Birkenhead about 1858, so Lucy was born in Birkenhead in 1863.  Lucy married William Hughes in 1879 when she was only 16 (and probably lied about her age as girls do!), and soon had baby Mary Jane in 1880.

Lucy and family where sharing a house in Birkenhead with her older sister Sarah Wood (nee Eddowes) in early 1881 but Lucy died soon after in summer.

Mary Jane (her daughter) was probably brought up by her uncle Edmund (and his wife Hannah) who she was with in 1891.  Mary Jane married Owen Stanton in 1897, and in 1901 uncle Edmund died.  Hannah then came to stay with the Stanton family (in 1901), till she also died in 1906. 1859 William Hughes William and Lucy has a boarder, Thomas Hughes with them in 1881.  This was probably his brother. 1880 - 1966 Mary Jane Hughes 86 86 Mary Janes mother, Lucy, died young so Mary Jane was probably brought up by her uncle Edmund (and his wife Hannah) who she was with in 1891.  Mary Jane married Owen Stanton in 1897, and in 1901 uncle Edmund died.  Hannah then came to stay with the Stanton family (in 1901), till Hannah also died in 1906. 1861 - 1906 Hannah Carter 44 44 The records show Hannah died young, in 1906. Mary Jane Hughes (Lucy Eddows daughter) was living with Edward and Hannah in 1891. In 1901, Edmund and  Hannah went to stay with Mary Jane and Owen Stanton.  Their address was 30 Eldon Place (1901 census).  ~1867 - 1925 Catherine Foley 58 58 In 1911, John (50) and Catherine (43) were living in Birkenhead with no children. 1882 - 1961 Edmund (Nat) Eddowes 78 78 Edmund was with parents in Liverpool in 1891, but had left home by 1901.  From the 1891 census it appears that Edmund was the son of John and Catherine.  However, they only married that year, so must have been from an earlier marriege (or illegitimate).

In 1910, Edmund was a Fireman on the crew list of the Oronsa, aged 25.

Edmund served with the British Army in WW1 (discharded 11 Aug 1917). 1883 - 1927 Sarah McCrink 44 44 Sarah's parents were James and Mary, both born in 1857 in Birkenhead.

Sarah was a housewide (Marrried), and aged 27 in 1911. 1909 - 1926 Edmund Partick Eddowes 17 17 1870 - 1935 Owen Stanton 65 65 In 1896, Owen and Mary Jane were married in Liverpool, Our Lady & St. Nicholas & St. Anne. 1897 - 1914 Edmund Stanton 16 16 1824 William Stanton 1832 Catherine Hughes 1847 - 1917 Thomas Stanton 70 70 1854 Mary Ann Stanton 1856 William Stanton 1867 Rosanne Stanton Samuel Dawson Samuel was a Brewer according to the 1851 census records for his wife Mary.

Although Mary was recorded as Married in 1851 and 1861, Samuel was missing from both census returns.  Had he died before 1851? 1804 Mary Rhodes Mary was recorded as a Brewer in 1851.  Interesting as many of the Breretons in my tree were also in the Pub trade.

Mary was living with her son James and daughter Ellen in 1861, still in Ellesmere.

Mary had her nephew, William Rhodes (aged 22) and grandaughter Sarah Huxley (aged 3) living with her in 1851. 1840 - 1915 Margaret Dawson 75 75 Margaret is the g.g. grandmother of Judith, a researcher of her family tree who contacted me through ancestry.co.uk. 1841 - 1882 William Salt 41 41 1831 Samuel Dawson 1836 James Dawson ~1833 Edward Dawson ~1843 Ellen Dawson 1845 Sarah Dawson Can't find in 1851 census.  Perhaps she died as a child, as strange she is the only child missing. 1826 Elizabeth Dawson ~1838 Ann Dawson ~1860 Ellen Murphy Not sure if there is a marriage, but not Sarah Elizabeth Parry (as that is another family on the 1891 Wrexham census).
