William Woodward

William was born in 1809 in Liverpool.¹

Birth Notes
- Possible son of Peter Woodward and Elizabeth Booth who married at Liverpool 1 Oct 1810. Peter was also a flatman.

William's father was Joseph Woodworth (Woodward) and his mother was Elizabeth Tomkins. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Woodworth and Alice Dobb. He had two brothers named James and John. He was the youngest of the three children. He died at the age of 73 in September 1882 in Chester.²

- There are two William's from Neston born about 1809. One died in November 1828, aged 21.
  
  William was also born in Liverpool and lived in Little Neston (1861), so assumed to be of the same family.
  
  William Woodward, Flat Man married Sarah Gray, spinster at Liverpool. Witnesses were John Taylor and Sarah Walton.
  
  William was a Flatman in 1832 when he married Sarah Gay, and in 1851 and 1871.
  
  In 1861, William was a mariner.
  
  In 1881, William (75), widower, a Flatman, was at Little Neston. Another William, born Parkgate, Cheshire and Maria (72 & 69) were living in Barwell, Leicestershire with 3 grandchildren.
