In 1841, Henry was professor of music at Neston School.
Henry eventually became a vicar and was a curate in Wigan before moving to a parish in Lambeth, Surrey in the 1860s.
4 Apr 1848, Henry Woodward (bachelor and cleric of full age) of Wigan married Alice Nevett, spinster of Neston. Henry's father was James a Schoolmaster.
Shortly after his father’s death he too died on 11th November 1870.
