Penelope's father was James Tomlinson and her mother was Mary Banks. She had three brothers and four sisters, named James, John, Edward, Ann, Sophia, Frances and Christian.  She was the second oldest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 67 in April 1815 in Holt.  She was buried on April 9th, 1815 in Holt.¹
