Frances' father was James Tomlinson and her mother was Mary Banks. She had three brothers and four sisters, named James, John, Edward, Ann, Penelope, Sophia and Christian.  She was the fourth oldest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 23 in December 1773 in Holt.  She was buried on December 17th, 1773 in Holt.¹
