Betty was born on February 18th, 1835 in Lockwood and her baptism took place in February 1837 at St. Peter (Huddersfield).1 2  Betty's father was Joseph Stocks and her mother was Rachel Beaumont. She had a brother and four sisters, named Josiah, Hannah, Sarah, Ann and Emma.  She was the third youngest of the six children.  She died at the age of 87 on April 5th, 1922.
