Jane's father was Dudley Sandford and her mother was Mary (Maria) Hassall.  Her paternal grandparents were William Sandford and Elizabeth Bryne; her maternal grandparents were John Hassall and Margery Jerius. She had a brother and three sisters, named Dudley, Mary, Elizabeth and Margery.  She was the oldest of the five children.  She died in October 1687 in Nantwich.  She was buried on October 7th, 1687 in Nantwich.¹
