Mary was born in 1862 in Little Bolton.1  Mary's father was Robert Roberts and her mother was Elizabeth (Betsy) Mather.  Her maternal grandparents were Charles Mather and Mary Dawson. She had a sister named Florence.  She was the older of the two children.  She died at the age of 75 in March 1937 in Bolton.  She was buried in 1937 at St. Peter (Halliwell).2
