Michael was born in 1752 in Keighley and his baptism took place there on October 15th, 1752.1  Michael's father was Thomas Pighels and his mother was Hannah (Ann) Wright. He had four brothers and two sisters, named John, John, Thomas, Joseph, Eunice and Rachel.  He was the fourth oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 82 in December 1834 in Haworth.  His burial was on December 30th, 1834 in Haworth.2
