Maria, known as Mary, was born in 1707 in Almondbury and her baptism took place there on June 14th, 1707.1  Mary's father was George Parkin and her mother was Susanna Harrison. She had three brothers and two sisters, named George, Joseph, Robert, Sarah and Anne.  She was the oldest of the six known children.
