Alice was born in June 1850 in Sharples.¹

Birth Notes

Alice's father was Joseph Nightingale and her mother was Margaret Ridings. Her paternal grandparents were William Nightingale and Peggy (Margaret) Riding. She had two brothers and two sisters, named David, Andrew, Esther and Mary. She was the second youngest of the five known children.
