William was born in 1889 in Little Neston.1  William's father was William Millington and his mother was Jane Peers.  His paternal grandparents were William Millington and Maria Williams. He had a brother and three sisters, named Charles, Mary, Maria and Daisy.  He was the oldest of the five children.
