Maria was born in 1893 in Neston.1   Maria's father was William Millington and her mother was Jane Peers.  Her paternal grandparents were William Millington and Maria Williams. She had two brothers and two sisters, named William, Charles, Mary and Daisy.  She was the third oldest of the five children.
