Walter was born in December 1880 in Pentrobin and his baptism took place on January 21st, 1881 in Buckley.1 2  Walter's father was James Millington and his mother was Mary Thornton.  His paternal grandparents were Peter Millington and Catherine Ellison. He had a brother and a sister, named John and Beatrice. He had an adopted brother named James.
