Margaret was born on June 28th, 1789 in Weaverham and her baptism took place there on July 19th, 1789.1 2  Margaret's father was John Millington and her mother was Mary Gibbons. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, John, William, Richard, Betty and Nancy.  She was the third youngest of the seven known children.
