William Mather

William was born in 1827 in Bolton and his christening took place on February 17th, 1828 at St. Mary (Deane) conducted by Curate J S Baker.¹

William's father was Jacob Mather and his mother was Sarah Sandels.  Henry Warburton and Mary (Mercy) Mather were his grandparents through his father's adoption. He had two brothers named John and James.  He was the second oldest of the three children.  He died at the age of 5 in April 1832 in Bolton.  He was buried on April 28th, 1832 at St. Peter's (Bolton).¹
