Thomas was born in 1735 in Newton le Willows and his baptism took place there on January 18th, 1735.1  Thomas' father was Henry Mather and his mother was Martha Woods. He had two brothers and a sister, named Richard, John and Jane.  He was the oldest of the four children.  He died at the age of 22 in September 1757 in Newton le Willows.  He was buried on September 22nd, 1757 in Newton le Willows.1
