Thomas was born in 1878 in Elton.¹

Birth Notes

Thomas' father was James Mather and his mother was Jane Taylor. His paternal grandparents were William Mather and Mary Warburton. He had a brother and three sisters, named Richard, Elizabeth, Mary and Martha. He was the third oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 2 in 1880 in Elton.¹
