Samuel was born in May 1825 in Warrington and his baptism took place on May 27th, 1825 at St. Elphin (Warrington).¹

Birth Notes

Samuel's father was John Mather and his mother was Mary. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Mather and Mary Morris. He had a brother and two sisters, named Joseph, Hannah and Mary. Hannah, Samuel and Joseph were triplets.
