Samuel Mather

Samuel was born on April 25th, 1761 in Deane and his baptism took place on May 3rd, 1761 at Bank Street Unitarian conducted by Reverend Philip Holland.¹²

Samuel's father was Samuel Mather and his mother was Mary Yates. He was an only child. He died at the age of 67 on September 16th, 1828 in Salford. His burial was on September 19th, 1828 at St. Peter's (Bolton).³

Death Notes
- Here resteth the body of Samuel Mather of Bolton,
  was here interned January 1st 1777, aged 74
  Also Mary the wife of Samuel Mather of Great Bolton,
  who departed this life the 23rd day of February 1781,
  in the 59th year of her age.
  Also Samuel their son, died September 16th 1828,
  aged 67 years. He lived beloved and died lamented,
  John Wright.

- Samuel liked his Marys. He married Mary Hodgkindon in 1785, Mary Haslam in 1787 (both at Deane), and then Mary Thorp in 1794.
